Brazilian Jewelry Brand Sauer Opens First U.S. Store in New York City

Sauer, a renowned Brazilian jewelry brand, has expanded its presence with the opening of its first U.S. store in New York City. The new location, which opened last month, is situated at 800 Madison Avenue in Manhattan.

Spanning 1,000 square feet over two floors, the store features a design by Estudio Tupi, based in São Paulo, Brazil. The space blends elements of Brazilian and Manhattan architecture, incorporating Art Deco windows, Jacaranda wood furniture, cantilevered tables, and Cubist Cobogó panels, all paying homage to Brazilian Modernism.

The second floor of the store is dedicated to a private salon for exclusive appointments. It also showcases custom jewelry featuring rare gems and minerals, some of which have been part of Sauer’s family collection in Rio de Janeiro for decades.

Though this is Sauer’s first U.S. store, the brand already has strong ties to New York City’s art scene. “Sauer’s work is well known in New York, where we’ve always worked to build relationships and partnerships that confirm we are in the right place at the right time,” said Gabriel Sauer, co-CEO of Sauer. “Opening our first flagship outside of Brazil, right on Madison Avenue, is a major milestone as we expand globally.”

In addition to its retail expansion, Sauer has been involved in the city’s cultural landscape. The brand launched the “Sauer Artist Prize” three years ago at The Armory Show, held at the Javits Center. The $10,000 prize honors an outstanding exhibiting artist. This year’s winner was Oliver Herring, a Brooklyn-based visual artist.

Sauer is also a prominent presence at New York Fashion Week and is currently collaborating with fashion designer Jason Wu.

To celebrate its new Madison Avenue store, Sauer unveiled nine exclusive jewelry pieces available only at this location. These pieces reflect the brand’s core pillars of art, nature, and spirituality. A standout creation is the “Suzanne” necklace, featuring a 19-carat diamond set in 18-karat yellow gold.

The store’s opening also coincided with the launch of Sauer’s “Ethos” high jewelry collection. This new collection includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and a brooch, all set with emeralds, tourmalines, diamonds, and lapis lazuli.

Sauer’s creative director, Stephanie Wenk, explained, “In partnership with artisans, the true guardians of Sauer’s codes, we transform stones into timeless sculptures that transcend trends and span generations. For our first store outside of Brazil, I developed this exclusive high jewelry collection with the culture and style of New York in mind.”
