At CES 2025, Ultrahuman, the smart ring maker, introduced a new line of luxury wearable tech called Rare. The premium collection expands the company’s lineup, which includes its popular wellness-focused smart ring, the Ring Air.
The Rare smart rings stand out in the market, not only for their cutting-edge technology but also for their high-end materials. Unlike typical smart rings, two of the Rare models are coated in 18K gold sourced from London Bullion Market Association-approved refineries and hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The third model features a sleek silver hue, crafted from pt950 platinum, which is 95% pure platinum.
Ultrahuman’s founder and CEO, Mohit Kumar, told TechCrunch that this new collection represents a “whole new category” for the company. Unlike a limited-edition designer collaboration, the Rare rings are part of an ambitious move to elevate smart rings to a more aspirational level.
The pricing reflects this shift. With retail prices between £1,500 and £1,800 (excluding local taxes), or about $1,900 to $2,250 based on current exchange rates, the Rare rings are far more expensive than Ultrahuman’s entry-level Ring Air, which starts at $349. The new collection’s luxury status is clear, aiming to bring both tech and elegance to a new market segment.
