Tiffany & Co., in collaboration with the CFDA, honored Jameel Mohammed with the inaugural Jewelry Designer Award during a cocktail reception at Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue flagship, The Landmark. This groundbreaking award celebrates emerging American jewelry designers who prioritize inclusivity and aim to elevate jewelry design as a prominent category alongside women’s and men’s wear.

Mohammed, founder and director of the afrofuturist jewelry brand Khiry, was selected for his exceptional creativity and commitment to innovation. As part of his award, Mohammed will receive a yearlong paid fellowship with Tiffany’s design department and a $50,000 prize.

Tiffany’s Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Davey expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with the CFDA, highlighting the shared values of supporting emerging talent and celebrating creativity. CFDA CEO Steven Kolb also praised the collaboration, emphasizing its broader impact and its potential to create opportunities for future designers.

The event also spotlighted the 10 talented designers selected for the program, including Mohammed, Angie Marei, David Perry, and others, who were tasked with creating designs that paid tribute to Tiffany’s heritage and forward-thinking spirit. The award aligns with Tiffany’s social impact platform, Tiffany Atrium, and the CFDA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the design world.
