Louis Vuitton’s new high jewelry collection, “Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds,” created by Francesca Amfitheatrof, explores the intersection of craftsmanship and scientific innovation in 19th-century France.
This second collection in the series features 50 unique pieces across seven themes. It introduces a proprietary diamond shape and highlights the strategic use of large, colorful gemstones.
Many of the themes are inspired by open-worked techniques, where the design features intricate, geometric patterns. The standout piece in each theme is the necklace, which is often bold and eye-catching. While the brand doesn’t explicitly mention it, the openwork patterns evoke a clear Art Deco influence. This makes sense, as the designs are inspired by important engineering and architectural monuments, a hallmark of the Art Deco period.
