Changes and Growth in Contemporary High Jewelry at TEFAF Maastricht 2025

by Henry

TEFAF Maastricht, one of the most prestigious art and antique fairs, is undergoing significant changes in its contemporary high jewelry segment this year, marking the most substantial shift since 2016. The adjustments appear to benefit collectors and attendees, introducing fresh opportunities for exposure to unique collections.

Notably, Indian high jeweler Bhagat and Swiss high jeweler Boghossian will not be participating this year. Both had previously treated the fair as an extension of their private salons, with limited public engagement. Bhagat, for instance, was notorious for not allowing photographs of his diamond jewels and providing minimal press access, while Boghossian had a similar policy but eased restrictions over time.

In their place, new jewelers like Margot McKinney, Santi, Buccellati, and Feng J. will showcase their exquisite collections. They will join regular exhibitors such as Hemmerle, Otto Jakob, Anna Hu, Forms, and Van Cleef & Arpels, bringing a renewed energy to the fair.

The 2025 edition of TEFAF Maastricht will feature 260 galleries and artists from around 20 countries. It will take place from March 15 to 20 at the MECC Maastricht convention center, with two invitation-only preview days on March 13 and 14.
