The 11th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), officially opened today at AsiaWorld-Expo. The event will run for five consecutive days, providing a platform for buyers to source a wide variety of diamonds, gemstones, and pearls.
The opening ceremony was attended by Algernon Yau, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government.
Alongside this event, the 41st Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will take place from March 4 to 8 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai.
According to Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, this year’s shows have attracted 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions, nearly 70% of whom come from outside Hong Kong. She highlighted that the shows reflect Hong Kong’s global appeal and its reputation as a top destination for conventions and exhibitions.
The twin shows serve as a one-stop sourcing platform for the global jewellery industry. They feature raw materials like loose diamonds, coloured diamonds, gemstones, and pearls, alongside finished jewellery pieces, high-end custom-made jewellery, and designer brands.
Winston Chow, Chairman of the HKTDC Jewellery Advisory Committee, mentioned that this year’s theme, “Symphony of Sparkles,” continues the successful format of two shows, two venues, offering a broad selection of jewellery products and creating new opportunities for buyers and exhibitors alike through parades, seminars, and forums.
