On February 27, 2025, the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)’s Surat Regional Office, in partnership with the Quality Council of India (QCI) and the Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association (SJMA), successfully organized a seminar titled “QCI Quality Journey with GJEPC” at the Hilton Garden Hotel. The event attracted over 130 industry participants, providing a platform to discuss advancements in quality standards and certifications critical to the gems and jewellery sector.
During the seminar, GJEPC honored Mr. Vijay Mangukiya, Immediate Past Regional Chairman – Gujarat, for his dedication to the industry and his role in the development of the Surat office. Mr. Jayanti Savaliya, Regional Chairman – Gujarat, emphasized the significance of quality certification, NABL accreditation, and best industry practices.
Mr. Rajat Wani, Assistant Director – Surat, outlined key initiatives by GJEPC, including trade education, e-commerce promotion, Common Facility Centre (CFC) projects, and measures for industry support.
Dr. Bhumi Rajyaguru, Joint Director at NABL-QCI, shared insights into the benefits of NABL accreditation and its positive impact on business growth. Experts from QCI also conducted informative sessions on ISO standards and ZED certification. Mr. Samir Joshi, Executive Director at IDI Surat, provided valuable knowledge on technical compliance in jewellery manufacturing.
