Chopard has launched its Insofu Emerald collection, a stunning Haute Joaillerie line that celebrates both the elegance of nature and the principles of sustainable luxury. This collection marks Chopard’s second venture into creating jewelry from a raw stone, emphasizing traceability and a closer partnership with suppliers.
The Insofu Emerald collection showcases a variety of captivating designs, including an elephant-shaped pendant that pays homage to the gem’s name, Art Deco-inspired chokers, and luxurious necklaces that evoke the opulence of the Roaring Twenties. Each piece of jewelry highlights a unique facet of the Insofu Emerald’s character while embodying Chopard’s boundless creativity.
The collection’s journey began in 2022 when Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director, introduced a remarkable 6,225-carat rough emerald. Discovered in Zambia, the stone was named “Insofu,” which means “elephant” in the Bemba language, due to its shape and size. Scheufele was immediately captivated by its beauty, seeing the potential for it to become the centerpiece of extraordinary jewels.
