TRACY, Calif. — Authorities have announced the arrest of four individuals following a robbery at a jewelry store within the confines of the West Valley Mall in Tracy. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, prompted a swift response from law enforcement agencies.
According to Tracy Police Department officials, the targeted establishment was Don Roberto Jewelers. Initial reports indicate that the perpetrators, totaling eight in number, made off with approximately $100,000 worth of merchandise from the store. Their escape route involved exiting through a rear entrance of the mall, but their flight was abruptly halted by a collision involving their getaway vehicle.
While law enforcement officers were not actively pursuing the suspects at the time of the crash, a subsequent search operation led to the detention of four individuals in the vicinity. However, the remaining four suspects managed to evade capture and are currently the subject of an ongoing manhunt.
The individuals apprehended by Tracy police have been identified as Trevion Williams, 21, of Bay Point; Jamary Barnes, 23, of Hayward; Jayden Barnes, 19, of Richmond; and Eric Anderson, 21, of Antioch. All four have been remanded into custody at San Joaquin County Jail, where they face charges related to organized retail theft, conspiracy, and robbery.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among store employees during the robbery, as confirmed by a spokesperson for Don Roberto Jewelers in an interview with CBS13.
In light of the incident, authorities have issued a cautionary advisory, urging members of the public to avoid North Corral Hollow Road between West Grant Line Road and West Larch Road. This advisory serves to facilitate ongoing investigative efforts and ensure public safety amidst the pursuit of the remaining suspects.
