Canadian authorities have apprehended three individuals, among them a 20-year-old of Indian origin, following two incidents of jewellery store thefts at separate malls in Mississauga within a span of two days. According to reports, a group of six individuals armed with hammers orchestrated the robberies at the Mississauga shopping centers.

The thefts occurred on May 9 and May 10, during which the perpetrators, armed with hammers, targeted jewellery stores within the malls.

During the first incident on May 9, the assailants shattered numerous display cases and made off with a significant amount of jewellery. They then fled the scene in a vehicle previously reported stolen in Toronto.

While conducting patrols inside another Mississauga mall, Peel Police encountered a group of five suspects attempting to rob another jewellery store.

Using hammers once again, the perpetrators replicated the modus operandi of the previous day by smashing display cases and escaping with valuable merchandise.

Following a pursuit involving mall security, three of the suspects, including 20-year-old Tejpal Toor of Indian descent, were apprehended by Peel Police.

In addition to the arrests, authorities recovered a stolen vehicle believed to be linked to the crimes.

Tejpal Toor, hailing from Toronto, along with the two other suspects, is facing multiple charges, including robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained through criminal means.

All three individuals have been detained pending bail hearings, while authorities continue their investigation with the possibility of further charges being filed against the accused.
