A jewellery store in Pimpri-Chinchwad was robbed of ₹29 lakh during the night between Friday and Saturday, according to police reports.
The shop’s owner, Sandeep Buhade, 50, who lives in Nigdi, filed a complaint stating that unknown individuals broke into his store and stole gold and silver ornaments, as well as cash.
The police reported that the intruders also damaged CCTV cameras in the shop and nearby area, taking the DVR with them when they fled.
According to the police, the suspects broke the shutter to enter the shop during the night. They stole 300 grams of gold ornaments worth ₹20 lakh, 10 kg of silver ornaments worth ₹9 lakh, and ₹18,000 in cash.
Nigdi police have registered a case against unidentified persons under Sections 454, 457, 380, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
