Jewellery Collective Teams Up with Hatton Garden BID for ‘From Inspiration to Innovation’ Event

by Jasmine

On Thursday, September 19, Hatton Garden will host the ‘From Inspiration to Innovation’ event, a gathering aimed at jewellery designers, craftspeople, and creative consultants. The event will provide a platform for these professionals to share insights into the jewellery design process with enthusiasts from the jewellery and fashion industries.

The event will kick off with a breakfast session where attendees can gain inspiration and practical knowledge. Dan Dower, a seasoned designer and craftsman with over 40 years of experience and co-founder of Dower & Hall, will deliver the keynote address. He will share his personal journey, creative practices, and lessons learned throughout his career.

Following the keynote, a panel discussion led by Kassandra Gordon, founder of the Jewellery Collective, will delve into similar themes. The panel will also engage directly with the audience, inviting questions and fostering interactive dialogue.

The panel will feature a diverse lineup of experts, including Gavin Marsh, co-founder of The Diamond Setter; Bibi Cheung, director and designer at TVRRINI; Ruby Jack, co-founder and designer at Ruby Jack Jewellery; Rebecca Maddock, creative consultant at &Worn Studio; and Nadia Abbas, co-founder and designer at Stööki. They will explore the inspirations behind their creative visions, from music and relationships to materials and craft techniques, providing tangible examples of their work.

Thanks to support from the Hatton Garden BID, the event is free to attend, aligning with the Jewellery Collective’s mission to create accessible opportunities for minorities in the industry. This initiative aims to open new pathways to success, challenging the traditional and often exclusive routes within the jewellery sector.

‘From Inspiration to Innovation’ is open to anyone with an interest in jewellery design, manufacturing, marketing, and trends. The event coincides with the London Design Festival and marks one year since the Jewellery Collective’s inaugural forum in September 2023. Last year’s event at the Goldsmiths’ Centre featured a keynote by renowned jeweller Stephen Webster and a panel discussion on best practices in jewellery production.

This year’s event will also launch the Jewellery Collective’s late-2024 program, which includes a mix of online and in-person activities.

“These carefully curated but relaxed events are meant to challenge the norm and provide supportive spaces for learning and collaboration,” said Ruby McGonigle, the new community manager for the Jewellery Collective. “We aim to amplify fresh voices, offer new perspectives, and foster exciting collaborations.”

Kassandra Gordon, founder of the Jewellery Collective, added, “By sharing knowledge and breaking down industry barriers, we can create a stronger, more sustainable jewellery sector.”

The Jewellery Collective welcomes all professionals in the jewellery and fashion industries, whether they are newcomers or seasoned veterans. For more information and to register for ‘From Inspiration to Innovation,’ visit the Jewellery Collective’s website.

The Hatton Garden BID represents a £2.5 million investment plan to enhance Hatton Garden’s status as a world-renowned business and visitor destination. Its focus includes supporting business growth, revitalizing the area, and reinforcing Hatton’s iconic role as London’s jewellery quarter.
