The Agniveer planned the robbery to pay off his brother-in-law’s home loan.

He and a friend carried out the heist at a Bhopal jewellery shop, as seen on CCTV footage.

Along with the Agniveer, five others have been arrested for their involvement.

The primary suspect, identified as Mohit Singh Baghel, an Agniveer serving on a short-term contract with the Indian Army, was posted in Pathankot, Punjab. Baghel was on leave and had traveled to Bhopal to visit his brother-in-law. According to Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra, Baghel orchestrated the robbery to clear his brother-in-law’s home loan and intended to use the remaining money for personal enjoyment.
