Pure Resources Discovers 4.5km Garnet Extension at Reedy Creek Project

by Jasmine

Pure Resources (ASX: PR1) has announced the discovery of a 4.5km extension of garnet skarn at its Reedy Creek Garnet Project in Western Australia. This newly identified strike extends the potential garnet resource from 1.1km to 5.6km, significantly boosting the project’s prospects.

The company has begun detailed metallurgical testing on bulk samples taken from the original deposit. These tests are crucial in determining the quality and viability of the garnet material, with results expected soon.

In addition to garnet, Pure Resources is also exploring the possibility of marketing marble as a by-product. Bulk samples from the high-purity marble host rock have been collected and sent for laboratory analysis.

Patric Glovac, Executive Chairman of Pure Resources, highlighted the importance of this discovery. He stated that the second site visit at Reedy Creek has expanded the outcropping garnet trend fourfold. Glovac emphasized that the project could become one of the world’s few commercially viable hard rock garnet mines.

“The project has abundant garnet with grades of up to 78% from the surface,” said Glovac. “This discovery signals the potential for significant resource growth at Reedy Creek, and we are eager to move forward with additional drilling.”

Pure Resources is focused on rapidly advancing the project through feasibility studies, with the goal of establishing a long-life garnet mine in Australia. The company is also conducting due diligence by reviewing and interpreting all available data related to the project.

Further mapping and sampling were carried out during the second site visit, in preparation for drilling scheduled for the fourth quarter. The collected samples are now undergoing additional testing to deliver a maiden resource estimate.

The Reedy Creek Garnet Project is located 90km north of Halls Creek in Western Australia and represents a significant industrial garnet deposit. Garnets, known for their durability and resistance to weathering, have various applications, including as gemstones, abrasives, and even in skid-resistant paints and road aggregates.

Pure Resources is a company focused on the exploration and development of battery metals, including nickel, copper, lithium, rare earths, and graphite.
