The 31st FACETS Gem and Jewellery Show, organized by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA) in partnership with the National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA), will take place from January 4 to 6, 2025, at the Cinnamon Grand in Colombo.
As the first major event of the year, FACETS 2025 is set to be one of the most highly anticipated gatherings in the global gemstone and jewellery industry. The show will bring together renowned traders, manufacturers, lapidaries, and collectors from across the world. FACETS has long been a vibrant celebration of Sri Lanka’s rich legacy as a leading source of coloured gemstones, with the country being home to over 75 varieties. This year’s event will focus on showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of Sri Lankan jewellers and traders, highlighting the blend of tradition and innovation that defines the industry.
FACETS 2025 will feature entrepreneurs from key industry hubs, including Ratnapura, Elahara, Beruwela, Ehiliyagoda, Galle, Pelmadulla, Kahawatta, and Colombo. These regions are known for their stunning gems and jewellery, and local exhibitors are eager to display their creations. The event aims to act as a platform for industry leaders to connect and collaborate, with the goal of driving Sri Lanka’s gemstone and jewellery exports towards the $1 billion mark.
Beyond showcasing Sri Lankan sapphires and coloured gemstones, FACETS will offer a glimpse into the country’s vibrant culture and heritage. The event is positioned to reinforce Sri Lanka’s status as a global gem and jewellery hub, promoting international collaboration and sparking innovation within the gemstone and tourism sectors.
Key Events at FACETS 2025
FACETS 2025 will offer a range of unique and engaging experiences for its visitors. Highlights include the elegant Sapphire Night, a celebration of the iconic Ceylon Sapphire, and the Women’s Power Breakfast, which will honor and inspire women leaders in the jewellery industry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to join a Mine Tour, offering an in-depth look at Sri Lanka’s local mining practices and the journey from mine to market, as well as a visit to the Port City Colombo.
Additionally, the exclusive VIP Golf Tournament and the Story Corner—an expanded version of last year’s Sustainability Pavilion—will offer valuable insights into the trade’s responsible practices and the communities that support the industry.
