FBI Seeks Fugitive Couple Wanted for Jewelry Theft Conspiracy

by Henry

The FBI is asking for the public’s help in locating two wanted fugitives, Vasile Sava and Onita Rostas, who are facing charges related to a series of jewelry store robberies.

Arrest warrants were issued earlier this year in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, with both individuals charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property.

Sava and Rostas, along with others, are accused of targeting multiple jewelry businesses. Investigators allege that the pair, often working in groups, would distract or separate store employees while others stole jewelry on display. This technique, known as sleight-of-hand distraction theft, allowed the suspects to remove and conceal valuable items before exiting the stores.

Sava and Rostas, who are married, are believed to be using several aliases and may be living and operating in various locations across the United States, including California, Texas, Florida, Maryland, and Virginia.
