Harp and Hound Jewelry officially opened at 238½ Freeport Road, the former location of the Marlene Harris Collection.
The store is the first brick-and-mortar venture of artisan jewelry designer Jacko, who creates and sells both his own handcrafted pieces and jewelry made by local artists. Jacko aims for his pieces to become modern heirlooms that will last for generations.
“My goal is for my jewelry to stand the test of time,” Jacko said. “I want it to be passed down through the years.”
Jacko’s journey into jewelry design began during the pandemic lockdown. With more time at home, he used the opportunity to build his own workshop and start his business.
“I was working behind the scenes while someone else owned the store,” Jacko explained. “That time made me realize I didn’t want to go back to that same path.”
In addition to custom jewelry design, Jacko offers restoration and repair services. He also books private appointments for personalized jewelry consultations.
Specializing in Celtic designs to honor his Irish heritage, Jacko’s creations reflect his passion for history.
The name “Harp and Hound” is a tribute to Jacko’s Irish roots, his wife Laura’s talent for playing the harp, and their pet hound, Loki.
A lifelong art enthusiast, Jacko often uses sketchbooks to draw his designs, a passion that continues to influence his work today.
