A jewelry store in north Etobicoke was the scene of a violent crash and robbery on Sunday evening, leaving one person hospitalized and two others with minor injuries.
Toronto Police reported that the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the Islington Avenue and Albion Road area. A vehicle crashed into the storefront of Raj’s Jewellery at 2650 Islington Avenue, after which the suspect or suspects entered the store and stole a “quantity of merchandise.”
One person inside the store was injured in the crash and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two others suffered minor injuries but were treated at the scene. It is unclear if they were also taken to the hospital for further treatment.
At the time of reporting, police spokesperson Const. Laura Brabant said investigators were still on the scene and could not provide additional details, such as the identity of the suspects or the items stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
