Luka Dončić’s Home Burglarized During Road Trip Amid Injury

Luka Dončić’s home was broken into on Friday evening while the Dallas Mavericks star was away, as the team continued its four-game West Coast road trip. According to reports, an unknown individual broke the master bedroom window and stole jewelry between 5 PM and 9 PM. Private security is now monitoring Dončić’s residence, but it is unclear whether the security was in place before the theft occurred, or how many individuals were involved.

At the time of the burglary, the Mavericks were playing the Phoenix Suns, although Dončić, who is averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game in the 2024-25 season, was not with the team. The five-time All-Star had suffered a left calf strain during the previous game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday and left the arena on crutches. Dončić is scheduled for re-evaluation in one month, making this burglary another unwelcome blow during his recovery.

This incident marks the third burglary involving an NBA player in just over three months. In September, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley’s home was targeted while he was attending an NFL game, with several pieces of jewelry stolen. In November, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis’s house was also broken into while he was at a game, and several prized possessions were reported missing.

Following the burglary at Portis’s home, the NBA issued a memo to team officials about home security. The Associated Press later obtained a copy of the memo, which suggests that South American Theft Groups may be involved in these recent incidents.
