A Houston man was arrested over the weekend and charged with the robbery of a 79-year-old woman, in which he stole $20,000 worth of jewelry. Jose Francisco Zamarripa-Garcia, who is now facing aggravated robbery charges, reportedly targeted the victim after having previously done renovation work at her home.
According to court documents, Zamarripa-Garcia returned to the victim’s residence to carry out the robbery. At the time of his arrest, he was out on bail for a 2023 smuggling case in Zavala County. The incident has sparked concern over the vulnerability of seniors and the importance of safeguarding their property.
