Haltom’s Jewelers, a Fort Worth institution for more than 130 years, has announced its closure, marking the end of an era. The iconic jewelry retailer, which has locations in Sundance Square, Ridglea, and Grapevine, will officially close on January 11. The stores are owned by Jack and Ladye Miller, whose family has managed the business since 1983.
Known for its fine jewelry and the signature freestanding clock outside its Sundance Square location, Haltom’s Jewelers has been a staple in the Fort Worth community. Ladye Ann Miller shared, “Between us, Jack and I have 108 years of retail experience and we have loved every minute.” She expressed gratitude for their family, employees, and loyal customers, adding that despite closing, the Millers will remain a part of the community.
Founded in 1893 by G.W. Haltom, the store initially gained recognition as a railroad-regulating watchmaker. Over the years, it has commemorated countless special moments for customers with exquisite pieces of jewelry.
While Haltom’s Jewelers is closing its doors, Jack and Ladye Miller will continue their work with Miller Investments. The closure follows other recent shifts in Sundance Square, including the departure of Reata Restaurant and the closing of a Melt Ice Cream location nearby.
