Jos Alukkas Group has experienced a notable 28% increase in diamond sales in the first nine months of the financial year, highlighting a surge in demand for premium, durable, and versatile jewellery in India. The company attributes the growth to rising disposable incomes and a shift in consumer mindsets, with natural diamonds now seen as symbols of personal style and sophistication.
India has emerged as the second-largest market for diamond jewellery, with Jos Alukkas witnessing increased sales in key categories such as engagement rings, wedding bands, and diamond necklaces. Varghese Alukkas, Managing Director of Jos Alukkas Group, emphasized the emotional connection and aspirational value that natural diamonds offer to consumers.
The company’s strong performance is further supported by its partnership with the Natural Diamond Council. The collaboration aims to educate consumers on the enduring brilliance and heritage of natural diamonds through engaging content, workshops, and equipping sales teams with tools to communicate the story of natural diamonds.
Richa Singh, Managing Director of the Natural Diamond Council in India and the Middle East, praised the partnership, stating that it would help raise awareness about the unparalleled qualities and ethical sourcing of natural diamonds.
With India projected to lead the global diamond market and the sector expected to grow by 150% to $18 billion over the next decade, Jos Alukkas is positioning itself to make natural diamonds more accessible through innovative designs that resonate with modern lifestyles.
