The National Museum, in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Muscat, launched an exhibition titled DIVA! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery on February 9, 2025, celebrating the creativity and elegance of Italian fashion jewellery.

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyidah Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al-Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University, and Vice Chairman of the National Museum Board of Trustees, the event saw a gathering of cultural and artistic figures.

Curated by Professor Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at Politecnico di Milano and Director of the Vicenza Museum of Jewellery, the exhibition features over 100 unique pieces that trace the development of Italian jewellery from the 1950s to today. The pieces reflect Italy’s evolving cultural and societal transformations, driven by technological advances in jewellery-making.

The exhibition is open to the public until March 9, 2025. During the opening, H.E. Pierluigi D’Elia, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Oman, emphasized the exhibition’s role in celebrating global creativity and beauty. Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, highlighted the significance of the collaboration and the exhibition’s cultural importance.
