An Oakland resident was arrested by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office in connection with a violent jewelry robbery that occurred. The suspect has been booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on charges of robbery, burglary, and grand theft. Authorities are still working to identify and locate two other individuals involved in the crime.
The robbery took place at the Home Consignment Center, located on Industrial Road in San Carlos, where three suspects smashed through the door of the open business and headed straight for the jewelry department. The suspects used hammers to break open display cases, making off with an estimated $56,000 worth of jewelry before fleeing the scene.
After several months of investigation, including support from the Milpitas Police Department in connection to a similar case, the sheriff’s office successfully identified the suspect. A search warrant uncovered evidence linking the man to the robbery.
