Orr’s Jewelers is set to open a third showroom later this year in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, a neighborhood that has undergone a dramatic transformation. Once an industrial area with railroad storage and distribution centers along the Allegheny River, the Strip District is now a vibrant hub for retail, leisure, and residential spaces.
The company’s existing showrooms are located in the suburban neighborhoods of Squirrel Hill and Sewickley, both east and west of the city center.
David Gordon, co-owner of Orr’s Jewelers, says the family business decided to invest in the Strip District after seeing the area’s revitalization firsthand.
His daughters, Aliza and Leslie, who are expected to take over the business as the fourth generation, live in the neighborhood. They view it as a thriving community that successfully combines historic charm with modern amenities.
