Bailey’s Fine Jewelry, a family-owned jeweler with locations in Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Cary, and Greenville, is expanding to Charlotte through the acquisition of Morrison Smith Jewelers. The well-established Charlotte jeweler, located at 705 Providence Road in Myers Park, has been a staple in the city’s fine jewelry scene for over 70 years.
Bailey’s has officially taken over the operations of Morrison Smith and will work closely with the current team to ensure a smooth transition in the coming months.
This acquisition represents more than just a business expansion; it marks the merging of two family-owned businesses with a shared history and values. The Smith and Bailey families have been connected for generations. Charles Smith, the father of former Morrison Smith president Chuck Smith, mentored Clyde Bailey, father of Bailey’s Fine Jewelry president and third-generation owner, Trey Bailey. With decades of shared relationships, this transition is seen as a natural and meaningful progression for both families.
