Tiffany & Co. Unveils Stunning Bird on a Pearl Collection

by Henry

The iconic Bird on a Pearl design by Jean Schlumberger is soaring once again with a stunning new capsule collection. The collection, featuring extremely rare natural saltwater pearls, was unveiled at a high jewelry showcase in Koh Samui in March, alongside other Schlumberger-inspired pieces. The collection represents a bold evolution of the famous avian mascot, originally imagined by Schlumberger, with Creative Director Nathalie Verdeille taking the bird to new heights by placing it atop rare pearls instead of the colored gemstones typically used in past designs.

The 2023 debut of the bird perched on a pearl marked a significant departure from tradition, and the Koh Samui event was the first time these exquisite pearl creations were showcased in Thailand.

Natural pearls, increasingly rare due to ocean pollution, were meticulously sourced for this collection. The pearls come from the Gulf region’s renowned expert, Hussein Al Fardan, who holds the largest private collection of natural saltwater pearls. This marks the third time that Al Fardan has exclusively shared his prized pearls with Tiffany & Co. The pearls are not just featured in brooches but also adorn necklaces, pendants, rings, and drop earrings, further elevating the Bird on a Pearl’s timeless allure.
