Tiffany & Co. has introduced the Bird on a Flying Tourbillon Azure Blossom, a remarkable new piece in its haute joaillerie watch collection. This 39mm, 18K white gold timepiece is a technical and artistic achievement, limited to just 10 pieces.
The watch is a masterpiece of champlevé enamel, featuring a dial adorned with appliqué lacquered flowers and a hand-sculpted 18K gold bird set with 70 diamonds. The artisanal work behind this piece involves over 120 hours of skilled craftsmanship, including enameling, lacquer work, gem-setting, and sculpting.
The bird motif is a tribute to Jean Schlumberger’s famous Bird on a Rock design. The case, sub-dial, and caseback are all snow-set with 771 diamonds, totaling 3.8 carats, while a 0.42-carat diamond crowns the Tiffany Setting-inspired winding crown.
Inside the watch is the Calibre AFT24T01, a custom Swiss-made, hand-wound flying tourbillon movement, developed with Artime. This 205-component calibre offers a 50-hour power reserve and operates at 3Hz. The flying tourbillon, visible beneath a diamond-faceted sapphire dome, rotates every 60 seconds and is visible from all angles thanks to its bridge-free design.
