NORRIDGE, Ill. (WLS) — Authorities are probing a brazen smash-and-grab heist that shook a jewelry boutique nestled within a suburban shopping hub.
The incident unfolded approximately at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at Zevar Jewelers, situated within the confines of the Harlem and Irving Mall, as reported by Norridge law enforcement.
Referred to colloquially as the “HIP,” the mall became the scene of a daring robbery when three individuals shattered the glass display cases at the jewelry establishment, making off with a yet-to-be-disclosed assortment of timepieces and precious items, according to police statements.
Witnesses at the mall were stunned into action, some capturing footage of the audacious raid as it unfolded. Videos circulating online depict the violent act of smashing the display cases.
Authorities revealed that the perpetrators swiftly departed the premises in a dark grey sedan, leaving behind a trail of uncertainty.
