In a heart-wrenching ordeal, a married couple from Kansas is grappling with the loss of a significant diamond from a cherished wedding ring. Dawn “Sis” Monroe, proprietor of a popular cookie shop and café in Leavenworth, recounts the distressing moment when she noticed the absence of the precious gem.
“I looked down at my hand and the center diamond is gone,” Monroe lamented.
The missing diamond, part of a wedding ring chosen by her husband nearly four decades ago, is believed to have slipped off amidst the bustling activity of the bakery. Despite the diligent efforts of Monroe and her staff, the search within Sis’ Sweets has proven fruitless.
“We kind of went back to the kitchen and looked around,” Monroe recounted.
