BORACAY, Philippines – Liza Soberano, the burgeoning Hollywood Filipino actress, captivated audiences at the inaugural Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival in Vietnam last week.
Serving as a juror at the prestigious event, Soberano graced the occasion in a sleeveless black gown by Anthony Ramirez, accentuating her stunning silhouette.
Ramirez’s creation, featuring a draped neckline and sheer cape, not only accentuated Soberano’s elegance but also garnered admiration both on the red carpet and on stage.
Adding to the allure, Soberano accessorized with earrings and a bangle from Tiffany and Co., valued at approximately P2.16 million.
Reportedly, the jewelry ensemble included a T1 Narrow Pavé Diamond Hinged Bangle (Rose Gold), priced at $21,000 (P1.19 million), and Large Link Earrings (Yellow Gold with Pavé Diamonds), valued at $17,000 (P966,000), according to the luxury brand’s website.
Completing the polished look were makeup by Mickey See, hairstyling by Renz Pangilinan, and styling by Perry Tabora.
During the festival, “Gospel of the Beast,” a film by Filipino filmmaker Sheron Dayoc, clinched the Golden Star Award for Best Southeast Asian Film. Soberano, meanwhile, presented the Best Actress trophy to Vietnam’s Thi Diu Ta for her performance in “Oasis of Now.”
Soberano served as a judge for the First or Second Film Category alongside luminaries such as Vietnamese-American Tom Cross, the Oscar-winning editor of “Whiplash,” film producer John Badalu, film director Nguyen Thanh Van, and Samuel Jamier, Executive Director of the New York Asian Film Festival.
Expressing her enthusiasm on Instagram, Soberano remarked, “Thrilled and honored” to be part of the jury, praising the festival as “an amazing showcase of talented filmmakers from all over the world.”
“Truly so inspired to continue working in an industry that encourages freedom of expression and challenges the way we think,” Soberano added.
