A prominent Birmingham jeweller has clinched a top national industry award.
Sonny’s Jewellers won ‘Jewellery Retailer of the Year (five stores or fewer)’ at the Retail Jeweller UK Jewellery Awards 2024. Established in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter since 1968, the business includes Sonny’s Jewellers and its sister store, JQ Diamonds, both known for providing unique, high-end customer experiences.
This accolade is the latest in a series of industry recognitions for the company. Previously, Sonny’s Jewellers won Best Sales Team at the UK Jewellery Awards in 2021 and was a finalist in 2022. This year, they earned the title for their outstanding customer service and ongoing innovations, which include store front enhancements, a focus on staff training, and upgrades to their onsite workshop and 3D printing services.
Sonny’s Jewellers and JQ Diamonds have become top destinations for jewellery in the Midlands, offering services like bespoke remodelling and repairs, along with a stock of 20,000 pieces. The business emphasizes a unique customer experience that reflects the history of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and features luxury brands such as Fabergé, Wolf, and Yoko London.
The company is also active in promoting the Jewellery Quarter as a hub for local businesses and supports community charities. This includes participating in a Dragonboat race to raise money for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Manish Jogia, managing director of Sonny’s Jewellers, expressed pride in the award, saying it highlights the importance of excellent customer service in today’s retail world. He emphasized their commitment to enhancing their offerings and contributing to the rich history of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. He hinted at more exciting developments in the latter half of 2024.
Leesha Kaur, operations director at Sonny’s Jewellers, noted that winning the award boosts team morale. She acknowledged their strong online ratings and confidence in their service and offerings, considering the award a great start to the year.
